Energy Saving Lighting Upgrades

Did you know that the US Department of Energy, through a recent energy study, attributed the cost of lighting an average business to over 40% of a businesses monthly energy bill? Though your business may use less or more, it is a fact that efficiency in lighting a business is critical to the bottom line.

One of the easiest, and least expensive ways, for a business to save money on its energy costs is to upgrade or retrofit its existing lighting systems to lighting systems that are more energy efficient. During a retrofit the old parts in a light fixture are replaced with new parts to make the existing fixture more energy efficient while in most cases improving the lighting. In some instances new lighting is the best solution but in either case the effort can save as much as 50% of the energy costs associated with lighting.

Idaho Power is currently offering incentives to commercial customers that convert their lighting to more energy efficient systems. These incentives are very good and Idaho Power’s program is comprehensive and well managed. In many cases, Idaho Power incentives will pick up 70% or more of the cost of a lighting retrofit. Full Spectrum Services works very closely with Idaho Power and manages all the administrative paperwork for our customers. In addition, Full Spectrum Services will act as the third party recipient of the incentive, minimizing the out of pocket expense for our customers.
